Nawaz Sharif City: Pakistan’s New IT Hub

Nawaz Sharif IT City Project:

On March 15, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave the green light to the ambitious Nawaz Sharif IT City project in Lahore, marking a significant milestone in the region’s technological advancement.

Spanning over 853 acres near the Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute and Research Centre (PKLI), this groundbreaking project has received an initial funding of 10 billion rupees from the Punjab government.

The project will be overseen by the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority, ensuring efficient management and implementation of its various components.

Comprising four key segments – the IT & Tech District, Education City, Film City, and Commercial or Residential Areas – the project aims to create a vibrant ecosystem for innovation and economic growth.

The first phase will prioritize the construction of the Celestia twin-tower IT building, symbolizing the city’s commitment to embracing cutting-edge technology.

To ensure top-notch quality and expertise, Nespak, a renowned engineering consultancy firm, will collaborate with an international consultant throughout the project’s development.

Anticipated to generate nearly one million job opportunities through innovative revenue models and tax incentives, the Nawaz Sharif IT City project holds immense promise for the region’s workforce.

In a bid to attract potential investors and showcase its potential, CBD Punjab plans to host roadshows and promotional events highlighting the project’s features and benefits.

The formal agreement for this transformative project was recently sealed by Director Project Management CBD Punjab, Asif Iqbal, and General Manager of China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), Wei Guang.

This strategic collaboration signifies a significant shift in the Sino-Pak relationship, aiming to accelerate growth and development in the Punjab province through international investment and innovation.
